Leaving at 09:00 am from the Tropical
Hotel Manaus pier, downstream Rio Negro River, passing in front of Ponta
Negra Beach.
There are many ship yard before arrive
at São Raimundo uptown and it’s palafitas (houses built on the stilts).
The old building is the first brewery of Manaus, built by Germans. In this
point is possible to see the Opera House roof that has Brazilian
flag colors.
The construction of the floating harbor
is interesting, brought from England. In the same area, we can see the
old Tax building, brought by steam boat, stone by stone, until the city.
During the boat ride we see many recreios,
called some years ago gaiolas, that means, river bus.
Fish boats are common close to the
Municipal Market that has French style.Passing by Educandos uptown we can
see a market built on the stilts, plus thousands of floating gas station
.
The YANNA boat hotel also pass by a considerable
part of the city like Refinery and the Rio Negro Navy Station.
We arrive at the meeting of the waters.
The point where Rio Negro river and Solimões river don’t mix. Sometimes
we can see dolphins here called “Botos” colored grey and pink ones (20
min to photos).
After we use the canoes, we navigate in
channel where we find many floating houses, manioc (cassava) plantation
and animals rearing. We are in Xiborena narrow stream from where we penetrate
in the Igarapés (canoe trails) and we pass in the Igapós
(flooded forest).
Before lunch, we can walk on the wooden
catwalks to see the water lyllies . It is possible to see Caymans (crocodilian
species) .
At the floating restaurant, which has regional
food, it always has pirarucú and tambaqui soup, both scale fish
from fresh water
.
After lunch we find the handcraft
made by natives (Indian descendants).
Back to the Tropical Hotel pier around
5:00 pm, transfer to hotel and end our services.
